WASHINGTON, D.C. – Gilbert LLP is proud to announce that Dan Wolf, an Associate with the firm, has been honored by the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia with the Making Justice Real Pro Bono Award for his record of achievement in pro bono representation.
Legal Aid selected Dan for this award in recognition for his outstanding pro bono representation of clients referred from Legal Aid, his exemplary pro bono leadership at Gilbert, and his sustained commitment to furthering Legal Aid’s mission: making justice real.
A key tenet of Gilbert’s philosophy is to give back to its communities. All of the lawyers and other employees at Gilbert engage in public service activity, including substantial pro bono legal work. As with all of Gilbert’s matters, its goal in pro bono representation is to develop and implement strategic approaches that will solve our clients’ problems. Gilbert encourages its attorneys to seek pro bono work, and makes the firm widely available to individuals and organizations who need expert legal assistance.
Dan has been continuously involved with Legal Aid’s Pro Bono Program since he joined Gilbert in 2012, representing clients in multiple practice areas including consumer law, rental housing, and public benefits. Moreover, he has been a leader in recruiting his colleagues to take on pro bono matters referred from Legal Aid.
“We are both very proud and quite fortunate to have Dan as a colleague,” said Scott Gilbert, founder and Chairman of Gilbert LLP. “His pro bono work sets an example for the firm, and he brings to it the same legal skills and strategic acumen that he provides all his clients. The entire firm is honored that Legal Aid has selected Dan for this well-deserved award.”
