Lelia Parker Associate

Lelia Parker joined Gilbert LLP in 2021, where her practice includes complex civil litigation, with a focus on mass torts, bankruptcy, and insurance coverage litigation, with a focus on eDiscovery. Her experience includes handling cases related to asbestos, the opioid epidemic, and PFAS.

Lelia also has an active pro bono practice, focusing on prisoner rights and police reform. She collaborates with the ACLU and local organizations, contributing her legal expertise to address community issues.

Prior to joining Gilbert LLP, Lelia was as an associate in a national law firm’s Baltimore office. Her legal training also includes a clerkship with the Honorable Clayton Greene Jr. at the Court of Appeals of Maryland.

Lelia earned her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, contributing to the Law Review during her studies.   Her educational background is complemented by a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore, reflecting her commitment to legal and social advocacy.

Lelia is also serves on the Board of Trustees for Baltimore City Community College, where she helps guide the institution’s growth and educational initiatives.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Representing creditors’ committees in pursuing insurance coverage for harms caused by talc and PFAS.
  • Advising in securing insurance proceeds for claims related to asbestos exposure in the automotive parts industry.
  • Pursuing litigation on behalf of a bankruptcy trust against dozens of insurers in state court to recover insurance proceeds for the benefit of governmental and personal injury claimants.
