Samone Ijoma Associate

Samone joined Gilbert LLP in 2025.  She represents corporate and individual clients in complex civil litigation and insurance recovery matters.  She also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Gilbert, Samone served as a judicial law clerk on the Supreme Court of Maryland (formerly the Maryland Court of Appeals).  She was also a legal fellow at the National Women’s Law Center, where she gained substantial experience in employment discrimination law.  Most recently, Samone was an Associate at a national plaintiffs’ side employment litigation boutique.  Samone’s practice focused primarily on individual and class employment discrimination claims.  In this area, she has written articles and been quoted in publications such as Bloomberg Law, Law360, and the 19th.

She received her law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
